Green SM Launches in India: VinFast-Backed EV Taxi Service Aims to Transform Delhi-NCR Mobility
India’s electric mobility scene is changing rapidly, and a major new player has entered the market. Green SM, a Vietnamese electric ride-hailing company supported by Vingroup and closely linked to VinFast, has officially started operations in India. This launch is a significant step not just for Green SM but also for India’s expanding EV transportation network.
Green SM has kicked off its operations in Delhi-NCR. It introduces the VinFast Limo Green, a specially designed seven-seater electric passenger vehicle meant for commercial use. The company has ambitious plans, aiming for a fleet of 10,000 vehicles and a fully electric operating model. Green SM is positioning itself as a serious competitor to established ride-hailing companies like Uber and Ola.
As India searches for cleaner and safer urban transportation solutions, Green SM’s entry comes at a crucial moment for the country’s EV ride-hailing sector.

Green-SM India Launch: What Makes It Important?
The launch of Green SM in India means more than just adding another cab service. It signifies the arrival of an expanding EV-first mobility platform that has built a strong presence across Southeast Asia.
India is now the fifth international market for Green-SM, following Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Since its founding in 2023, the company has quickly grown and shown impressive success in Vietnam, where it captured a significant portion of the taxi market with its all-electric fleet strategy.
Unlike traditional ride-hailing platforms that depend on independent vehicle owners, Green-SM owns and operates its vehicles directly. This allows for better control over service quality, safety standards, maintenance, and customer experience.
